Myanmar trip 2013

Hey mister/miss readers! A few weeks ago, I actually went back to Myanmar. Although I only went back for a couple of days, I feel like I am stuck there for months! I am not implying that the trip was boring, its just that... I sort of felt unwell most of the time. One factor that affected me most for the journey would be the weather. Probably because one minute, I received cool air from the air-con and another minute, I went outside, which was pretty humid. I sweated relentlessly. The quick change of temperatures might be the main reason on why I got a fake allergy (eg. blocked nose, throat or ear). Not good...totally not good. I realized for a second that a fever is soon emerging. And it did. I felt shivers through my whole body due to coldness. I had to take a para pill, which will help cease away the fever (as told by adults). But I hate to take it because of its after-taking effects; I will sweat ah...lot.., which make be feel uncomfortable.
You might feel that I am 'complaining' too much, so I guess I should just elaborate the rest on the actual trip. /sits back down and relax/ *Eh-hem eh-hem*, the trip was pretty simple... where shall I start from?

Day. 1 -duhh-. Plane touched down onto the grounds of Myanmar in the evening, the timing was delayed because of the earlier thunderstorms in SG. Aunt (mom's side) drove us to her place, which we will be staying temporarily for the whole trip. I immediately went to wash my face and rested for a few minutes before heading to "Shwedagon Pagoda". If you go to the capital, Yangon...the temple is definitely a place to visit. There are lots of locals and tourists everyday. People praying according to their birth years/months, each separated by an animal. Personally, I like going there at night as it is much cooler and well-lighted. One word: magnificent. The view and all. You betcha! "Shwe" stands for gold in Burmese.

Day. 2 We went to our uncle's (dad's side) place to give them their items we brought all the way from SG. Nothing much...but I did enjoyed the accompaniment of my lovely cousins by playing together with the cats, a dog (you can see that they pet quite a number of pets) and even cycling on a big, busy road.

Day. 3 Mom woke me up super early on that day as we are going to a road trip to a place starts with 'M', it sounded something like "Morbi" but I do not know the correct spelling nor the Burmese words for it. I was reluctant to wake up at first, but I got no choice but to surrender my sleep. =_+ I got morning sickness and then car-sick...vomited once and had a fever. But the journey did not end there, I managed to pull through the whole thing. We followed our 'trail' by visiting another place called "Hlaw Ga" national park. Holy, that place has many animals like monkeys, deers, rhinos and elephants. I was told by someone that there used to has more fiercer ones like lions and tigers but they had been moved elsewhere. We fed them with bananas, raw vegetables and beans which were purchased from some sellers there. Quite a 'foresty' experience I would say. The roads were pretty stiff too. So many slopes here and there.

Day. 4 One of the most exciting and fun part throughout the whole trip! Had a blast with my cousins and brother at a mall called "Junction Square". It is a pretty nice place to hangout with your friends if you are there. We ate there before heading to the arcade. Played ice hockey, basketball, gun (which was kinda a fail geeheheh), and the most fun part of them all? the dance machine! Let boast for awhile... I beat my cousin and brother for that part! (totally being an immature person here *sheepish smiles*).  We proceeded on by catching the movie: Thor - The Dark World and I would have to say it was rather good with some funny scenes and of course...fighting scenes.

Day. 5 It was just another ordinary day for me. I rested most of the time, in another words, stayed at Aunt's place for almost the whole day except for the part that I walked around the neighborhood (the stores) to see if there is anything I could purchase at a reasonable price. Bought a bag which made me pretty satisfied. Night falls and the relatives started arriving one by one. Another cousin of mine made a surprise visit but I really appreciate his effort on turning up. I will surely miss each and every single one of them!!!

Day. 6 Our flight was in the afternoon so we had a pretty good amount of time to go somewhere near in the morning. We dropped by a hypermarket called "Sein Gay Har". Had mixed feeling upon going back to SG afterwards.

The overall trip was an awesome one and I could say I really enjoyed myself with my cousins, aunts and uncles, not mentioning...my grandma. It is good to see her too! I would fairly much love to upload some photos but...I did not really take them as the battery in my phone died and I was too lazy to charge it. Don't worry! There will definitely be a next time. Hopefully, I will go to other parts of Myanmar.
