Thoughts within me

Ever since the death of one of my relatives, I foster a new way to look upon life. People will come and go eventually. Many a time, we will end up being placed in a vulnerable position. We will meet and interact with new people, form relationships and eventually lose some of them. Like obviously, everyone has to face death. A certain time is set for all of us. What am I pinpointing, anyway? I just want to share what is on my mind lately. Alot, alot of things are, actually. I cannot believe a life can be so fragile, unpredictable and unfair. A few weeks ago, another life had been lost due to this long battle with cancer.

I do not intend to write a long essay about this issue so I guess I want to come straight to the point. Writing this post in order to not just give self-awareness to some people, but to myself too!

Honestly, her death made me reflect and do some soul-searching. The two things she indirectly taught me will be how deep parental love is, and how we all should live in the moment now.

Parental love - ah! A really great feeling. whether its biological or not, how often do we acknowledge our parents for all the sacrifice and patience in teaching life values to us? Do we always appreciate and thank them for their efforts? For my case, I tend to neglect them due to certain reasons like negativity and ego. When these things get through our way, we sort of take things and people (especially your parents/guardians/teachers) for granted. Stop for awhile and lets list down all the things/people we are blessed with, one thing I can mention now would be how fortunate we are to the point that we have the chance to be on the internet when others are out there, doing extra work under the hot sun, not complaining at all. Yes, we might all come from different backgrounds like being raised by a single parent, going faraway to get better education, staying/still kicking without your parents ect. Whatever situation you are living under, why not make this goal together to spare a thought for people who helped us.. brightened up our days and kept us out of danger. Yes, they could be anyone! For me, I am really grateful for my family despite the conflicts and misunderstandings we have. I need to not let anger or ego take over me, to not take things for granted as they might not last forever.  Being said with the earlier words, this post will bring some motivation and reflection out of me.

I feel that human beings have this tendency to look more towards the negativity rather than the positivity. For instance, we always want something, feeling incomplete unless we get that particular thing.
BUT
How often do we thank and appreciate the things/people we already have now? It is easier to be more on a negative side than to be on a positive one. We are living in a funny world.
There are many many things we could be grateful for. For example, we are lucky to have an access the internet, to learn more wisdom/knowledge and know about the world outside. Most people living outside the city, faraway from the country rarely go onto the internet, but they are still happy people. My relatives, for instance.

I experienced this case before whereby a child's mother was diagnosed with cancer. She was supposingly "suffering" from some loss of memory because the cancer cells were affecting her brain, causing her to be a light-bulb; one moment, her memory comes back...the next, it is gone. It like a blinking process when electricity touched the tungsten of the bulb. She knew her days are numbered, so long story cut short...before leaving back to her hometown, she couldn't specifically recall anyone but her son! Her final goodbye was a kiss to him! Tears started rolling down everyone's cheek then. It was so touching.. how someone's unconditional love can be. For this case, it was the love of a mother.

We only learn a lesson when something eventually happens...

She has taught me how sacrificial parental love is, how we should all live in this moment before time is up and it is too late for regrets. Living in this moment means enjoying what life has to offer. Happiness is a choice, an option.

Feel the love! Life is beautiful.

Great great inspiration,
CM
